Friends,
the year met again with the year, and I daresay it was even more challenging year than the last, in which I wished us all much hope and trust in the currently closed year of 2021. Both of those little things were needed. But there were also precious few of them; on the contrary, I am afraid, both of them, and trust in particular, seem rather to be fading from society. Instead, not only physical health, whether due to the coronavirus or not, but also psychological health, anxiety and depression have creeped surreptitiously into every corner of our society.

"Above all, let us look for the good around us, I believe that with a positive attitude together we can face up to the actual problems of the outside world, and there are not too few of them. Let us take on the challenges of the coming year with the courage to tackle and struggle these problems. May the good be near you, the dark forces avoid you, and may next year be filled with love and understanding." I could sign this last year's wish this year, too. I found a lot of good in 2021.

After many years, I successfully completed my formal education. And, I am incredibly happy to move on and forward on a career path filled with both scientific and aeronautical passion, closer to my dreams, which would not have been possible without the support of many of you. Unlike previous year, the whole family could meet again this Christmas as usual, in health and joy, fortunately in full numbers. And Ježíšek (our Father Christmas) even got us a white Christmas this year, after a few years with mud; what more could you ask for. I've made many new friends, a lot of people around me have accomplished a lot, many are great inspirations to me without perhaps realizing it. Others and I have a number of joint plans for this new year, which I look forward to. Much.

For 2021, I thank you all, for your many shared memories, trips, joys, but also toil or sorrow. Even in worse times, when the surrounding conditions are not the easiest, it makes sense to try your best and become the best version of yourself. To have the courage to overcome new and new obstacles all the time. To blossom, like this Japanese azalea on the forgotten wall at the edge of the deep cedar forest above the town of Nikkō. Let's see you bloom as much as you can. Even in 2022.
