I grew up in Jindřichův Hradec (Henry's Castle). After studying at the local eight-year gymnasium (high school), when I was deciding what to do next, Masaryk University in Brno was an obvious choice for me. Brno thus became my second home for another 11 years of studies in biochemistry, organic and physical chemistry and electrochemistry. During and after my doctorate, I also began to explore biomedical and pharmacological topics. More about what I do scientifically is on the My Work tab.
