This year, on behalf of the Institute of Chemical Processes, we participated in the Science Fair in Letňany from 5 to 7 June 2025 and again it was several days packed with science, experiments, colours and meeting colleagues. What was there to see this year?

Science Fair: "The ninth edition of the Science Fair offered visitors a wide range of activities. Great interest aroused the so-called space town of Czech Space City. People could try using virtual reality what it is like to be on the moon or what kind of overload astronauts face. At the fair, the public had the opportunity to create their own earthquake, look into the forensic laboratory of the Criminalistics Institute of the Police of the Czech Republic, measure stress in plants or take a virtual walk in the bowels of our nuclear power plants. At the Science Fair, there were chemical experiments, boron lasers, detection of fake works of art and much more. The whole event simply brought a huge amount of knowledge and fun, and lovers of all scientific disciplines, from mathematics, biology, to philosophy or psychology, came into their own.

As part of the accompanying programme, there were scientific performances, panel discussions, lectures and workshops, all in a multimedia hall in a completely newly designed design. Popular science shows offered entertaining experiments with explosions and smoke. Panel discussions moderated by Václav Moravec focused on topics such as artificial intelligence, space exploration and the anniversary of the end of the Second World War."
