This is the second run from the United Kingdom of Božejov, where we went to summer children's camp this year. What did we experience in the meadow at Božejov this time? We started our almost two-week adventure with an evening parade, during which we raised the flag 🇨🇿 and for dinner the cook cooked us a delicious dill sauce with dumplings. We met at the games and then we sang 🎶 by the festive fire 🔥 with the excellent guitarist Big Dan 🎸. In the evening it rained 🌧, but we ended up sleeping in a dry place. The next morning came a sunny day ☀️, which we started with a running game in the forest 🌲 while searching for the keys 🔑. For lunch we had a delicious risotto and played games in the camp. Before sleeping we got to know the smells and tastes blindly.
Like every day, we started the next day with a warm-up, during which we walked like ducks 🦆. After breakfast the first squad went to the ceramics workshop 🏺 and the second and third squad stayed in the camp to learn various knots 🪢 and codes. In the afternoon we got hit by a little rain 🌧, but that didn't stop us, so we continued our program in the big shelter⛺️. Towards evening we played a quick game in the woods 🌲 and crawled into our sleeping bags, exhausted.
In the following days we took turns in the ceramic workshop 🏺, while the other squads stayed in the camp and continued to train knots 🪢, codes and work with the compass🧭. We also washed the wild animals in the warm water 🚿 and played a lot of other games, e.g. ping ping pong balls 🟠 after a small circuit around the boundaries of the playing area 🌲. During the last few days we also made pipes and magnifiers for Sherlock Holmes 🔎. We played a running game in the woods 🌲 and took advantage of the terrain orientation with the compass🧭.
On Monday we finally had a day trip. In the morning after breakfast we went to Božejov, where a bus was waiting for us 🚌, which took us to Kaproun and from there we set off along the red hiking trail 🟥 to the ruins of Landštejn Castle 🏰. After a tour of the castle we went to see The Bludné kameny stones 🪨 and further along the red trail we reached Staré Město (Old Town) to the bus 🚌.
The next day we were followed by dog handlers 🐕, who showed us Sid, who showed us how to obey and carry out commands even without calling. After lunch we showered in warm water 🚿 and after tea we hunted a Baskerville dog 🐕, which was introduced by our instructors. In the evening block we went on a dogsled ride! In the following days we played perhaps tail hunting or collecting identikits, which stretched into the afternoon blocks. In the next evening program opened a royal tearoom 🫖 and a gaming room 🎲 as a reward from the Queen of the United Kingdom of Božejov 👑.
On Thursday we planned to cook our own dinner, so first thing in the morning we had to get the raw materials. We had to win the money for them in the morning at six different locations. Then we cooked a delicious dinner and dessert. The first squad made Indian cuisine 🥘 and cheesecake 🥧, the second squad made chicken in clay 🍗 with roasted vegetables in the Spanish way 🥗 and bananas with chocolate 🍌🍫 and the third squad chilli con carne 🍛 with peaches of all tastes 🍑. Everyone liked it very much and we didn't go to bed hungry in the evening 😅.
The camp is coming to an end, so the next day we played a tournament in the ring. After lunch we also went to the swimming pool 🏖 and in the evening we lit a festive fire 🔥 and evaluated the all-camp game. But most of all we were looking forward to the disco 🪩, which followed. Ten days of the camp went by like water and on Saturday there was a big packing. After packing the camp attendants' belongings, all other equipment came to packing.
Thanks to the squad for good work and even though we finished third, it was nice with you. And thanks to our friends and the whole organizing team for a great time spent. See you next year in the meadow at Božejov!
